About Me

Thanks for visiting my blog! Let's get a little better acquainted...

My name is Lea Leydsman, formerly Lea Pherribo. I'm 24 years old and I currently live in Provo, UT. Provo is a great place. It's beautiful and the people are kind and friendly. If there ever was such thing as a utopia...Provo would fit close to the description (you may be rolling your eyes Provo residents but you know it is true!).

I get to shack up with my hot hubby Nic. He is an amazing man. He is smarter than anyone else that I know and will make you laugh until your stomach hurts. He is sweet and kind and hard working. He's my everything. I just love him. He works for Adobe as a Senior Account Executive and sells web marketing software to big shot companies (I kind of think he's a big deal). We were married April 14, 2012. It was the best day of our lives.

My family is amazing and they're pretty hilarious too. I have two gorgeous older sisters that are my best friends. I gotta tell ya, I really lucked out in getting to be a part of this family. We grew up in New Jersey and I am still very attached to my East Coast roots.

I've been Mormon all of my life (aka a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints or LDS) ...if you couldn't already tell from my wedding pictures at Temple Square in Salt Lake City, UT. My religion is very important to me. It gives me strength, happiness, and puts life into perspective for me. If you want to find out more about Mormons, ask me! Trust me, I've heard every question in the book. For whatever reason, people think being black and Mormon is super weird so I'm used to getting lots of questions and I'm happy to answer them! Back in Jersey I wasn't as open about my beliefs as I should have been and I regret it; so now I love to share my beliefs with anyone that will hear me. Or visit Mormon.org, it's a great site.

Since we are on the topic of being Mormon, I went to college at Brigham Young University (BYU) in Provo, UT. I graduated in 2011 with a degree in Family Life Science with an emphasis in Interiors (and a minor in Communications as well). I loved BYU and am still a huge fan...Go Cougars! Since graduation I have been working full time as an Account Manager for a software company called Property Solutions ...and obviously I blog on the side.

So I think that about sums up my life right now. I'm glad I got to tell you a little about me and I want to hear more about you! If we haven't met yet leave me a comment about yourself and I'll be sure to respond!

You seem like a stylish girl and although i am getting better at being fashionable, i could always use some tips. I mostly enjoy making bows for my daughter which i seem to have a knack for, im always getting orders for them by word of mouth. I also love to read...theres just no time for it all!! Oh, and my name is Gina by the way. Its nice to meet you!

    1. It is so nice to meet you too Gina! I loved learning about you. It is always so fun to see fellow BYU alums in the blogosphere. Your family sounds so darling. Where do you sell your bows? I have 7 nieces so I'm always looking for cute presents for them. You should also enter my giveaway! It runs until Sunday March 31st and is a gift certificate to one of my favorite home decor stores West Elm (If there's not a store by you ordering online is very easy. I did that all the time before they brought a store to Salt Lake.)Anyway, I hope you stop by the blog more often. It is always nice to find a new friend!

  3. Can you do a blog post about your hair? It's gorgeous, how do you get it so shiny and keep it healthy?

    1. Thanks so much! That is actually a great idea to do a post on hair care :) I make sure to add that to my posting schedule! But for now the products I absolutely can't live without are Moroccan oil (I use this to blow dry and straighten my hair and also to add shine), Herbal Essence "totally twisted conditioner", and I make sure to use a sulfate free shampoo. My main trick is to not wash it too often because my hair is very dry and can't stand too much heat styling.

Thanks so much for reading! I hope you stop by again soon! xo, Lea
